Teaching is not an easy job ,but it is a necessary one ,and can be very rewarding when we see our students’ progress and know that we have helped to make it happens. It is true that some lessons and students can be difficult and stressful at times ,but it is also worth remembering that teaching can also be extremely enjoyable.
A teacher is the controller in the class he/she is the key or the base of an effective teaching plan or system besides to his/her knowledge and intelligence. What marks one teacher out from another is how they react to different events in the classroom as the lesson continues. This is essential ,because however well planned and prepared, the chances are that things will not go as it is planned. Unexpected cases and events happen in any class at any lesson; and it is the teacher’s intelligence and knowledge is to decide what to do and how to react.
Therefore, good teachers are able to absorb the unexpected and to use it to their and the students’ advantage. In other words ,teachers need to be able to ‘think on their feet” and act quickly and decisively at various points in the lesson. When students see that they can do this ,their trust and confidence in their teachers is greatly enhanced. So, the teacher is the back bone of a good class. HE /she needs to keep up to date with knowledge, workshops and new teaching skills to achieve her /his objectives .
